Former Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Alltype Engineering, Colin Heitman is retiring from the organisation after leading its business over the past 33 years.

Colin commenced with Alltype Engineering Services in 1988 as an Estimator and Project Manager, progressing to the role of Managing Director in 1997 which he held for 20 years. As the company continued to grow and expand, Colin stepped into the COO role within the group in 2017, responsible for project delivery and workshop operations.

In 2020, Alltype Engineering ownership moved from private to public with acquisition of the company by WestStar Industrial (ASX:WSI). With the new parent company financial backing and management support, Alltype Engineering is now able to undertake larger and more complex projects, both workshop and site based.

“After leading the organisation’s growth and success over three decades, I feel this is the right time for a leadership change. It has been my honour and privilege to serve this great company,” Colin said reflecting on his tenure at Alltype Engineering, which concludes at the end of March, 2021.

“I am proud of the people of Alltype Engineering and the business we are building. It’s been a fantastic overall experience with countless memories that are among the best in my life.”

“Throughout the time, I have been humbled by the commitment and hard work of our people, and their passion for creating a truly purpose-driven company. I’m especially grateful for the team we created, the incredible support they provided over the decades, and all the industry contacts I’ve had the pleasure of engaging on all sides of the industry. My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone, along with my strong intent to stay in touch and potentially contribute in new ways”, said Colin.

“For more than three decades, Colin has played an instrumental role within the Alltype Engineering organisation, and has helped guide the business into the company it is today. Colin's early view of the robotic and CNC automated processing equipment has made him an incredibly valuable advisor to Alltype Engineering,” Robert Spadanuda, Group CEO of WestStar Industrial.

Mr. Spadanuda added, “We have all benefited from Colin’s track record of long term thinking and focus on execution. Colin’s leadership and collaboration will be greatly missed, and I am deeply grateful for the significant contributions he has made”.

The business will continue to operate under the leadership of Kelvin Andrijich who has been the managing director since 2017 and who was the company’s first graduate engineer hire in 1995.

We thank Colin for his leadership at Alltype Engineering congratulate him on his accomplishments and upcoming retirement.
