Alltype Engineering Services have recently built an additional workshop adjacent to the existing carbon steel workshop for the sole purpose of housing automated steel processing equipment. Not only for our own requirements but we are happy to process pipe and structural for other fabricators.

The recent skills shortage was the catalyst behind the company directorís decision to invest in computer driven automated steel processing equipment to assist in our main areas of fabrication being pipe spooling structural steel. Both machines have greatly improved fabrication accuracy and substantially reduced human error resulting in superior quality and end product. This in turn has improved productivity and delivery times.

The CNC pipe processing machine is the largest of its type in Australia and capable of processing carbon steel and stainless steel pipe up to 13.5 m in length from 80 NB through to 2000 NB with a wall thickness range from 1.6 mm up to 100 mm.

Almost any pipe profile complete with weld prep can be achieved such as mitre cuts for lobster back bends, straight branches on centre or off set, angle branches on centre or off set, dummy legs for butt weld elbows and compensation plates branches.

The robotic structural steel processing machine can process any structural steel member (Channel, Beam, Column, Angles, RHS and Flat) to 900 wide 400 deep and up to18 m long.

As the steel moves via roller conveyor through the robotic cutting area a high definition plasma head accurately cuts end shapes including copes, weld preps, holes (any size or shape) and marks cleat location and item identification.
