New premises – 52 Hope Valley Road

Driven by the overall growth of its operations and the desire to provide our clients with a more reliable and bespoke service Alltype Engineering, is expanding from its Burlington Street premises to a brand new facility at 52 Hope Valley Road Naval Base. The new premises boasts a total of 16,500m2 with a two story office building (750m2) and a two bay workshop (5000m2). The fully equipped workshop with seven overhead gantry cranes each with a minimum of 9m under hook and max dual lift of 40 tons.

Alltype Engineering has an enviable heritage with over 20 years of providing superior Pipe Work Systems, Structural Steel and Plate Work for the Water, Mining, Infrastructure and Oil & Gas Industries. The move into the bigger premises allows for efficient fabrication for larger items such as hoppers, bin tanks and vessels.
Managing Director of Alltype Engineering, Colin Heitman, said: “With the automation of our steel preparation processes, moving to the new premises is a natural step for us. Once our new plate profiling machine arrives we will have the capacity to CNC or robotically process all our raw materials being plate, all structural steel and pipe.”

Works Supervisor, Frank Gran, further added “The new layout, with greater all round door access reduces the hassle and cost of handling raw steel in and fabricated items out and reducing the double handling associated with an overcrowded work area. Greater head room gives us the capacity to assemble and turn larger items to improve assembly and weld times of larger complex fabricated items. Multiple cranes with capacity to 20 tons will heavily reduce time wasted when waiting for steel movement.”
